Ran Online was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Characters in Ran Online can be built in four main types-DEX (dexterity), INT(intelligence), POW(power). DEX types usually has fast skills, low attack power and high defense, INT types has mid skills, very high accuracy, mid attack power and mid defense, POW types comes with fast skills, very high attack power but low defense, and lastly BIG types are have low skills, low accuracy, low attack power, and low defence.

As in role-playing games (RPGs), the player assumes the role of a character (often in a fantasy world or science-fiction world) and takes control over many of that character's actions.

Players can also take advantage of the help of pets to help players adventure in the game. This pet has certain skills, such as being able to restore the player's HP. Classes are divided into four types: Swordsman, Fighter, Archer, and Shaman. Added Extreme Class (can only be done after reaching level 190 of normal class). This department is further divided into three traits Strength, Agility and Intelligence (Extreme has Fighter, Swordsman, Archer And Shaman instead).
